What are the 13 vocabulary words used to understand 25% of a text?

How big of a vocabulary is needed to understand textbook reading?
this is for extra credit for a class that I am taking. The instructor told us the percentages of 50k, 200, 2500 words to understand a textbook page and the 13 words are for us to find.

13 of the most commonly used words:

1. Why
2. How
3. By
4. All
5. Will
6. It’s
7. Tell
8. Sleep
9. Let
10. Up
11. Use
12. Put
13. Say

I’m not sure about understanding 25% of the text… but these would certainly help!

Hope this helps :)

There may be 13 to understand 25% BUT you’re not going to understand what you’re reading if you only get 25% of it.

The answer to this question depends on the subject matter of the textbook. Some subjects use less jargon than others. And sometimes, even if you know 100% of the vocab you still won’t get what the author is saying.

I understand each and every word you used, but I have no idea what you are talking about.
Writers of textbooks, as well as questioners on Answers, should carefully consider what their audience knows about their subject and present their thoughts accordingly.
