Spanish: the difference between the conditional and the imperfect subjective tenses?
Just revising so much my head’s sort of confused xD I have an exam tomorrow.
Both seem to be to do with things that may happen, e.g. "If I were a cow" (si fuera una vaca – Imperfect subjunctive) or compraría "I would buy". But both seem so similar with the "were"s and "would"s that I am getting confused.
Please help Spanish speakers!
The conditional usually refers to an action that is conditional.
I would go to the store if I had a car.
Iría a la tienda si tuviera coche.
While the imperfecto de subjuntivo usually refers to actions, thoughts etc. that may happen, usually in the future.
You told me that I might come at three.
Me dijiste que viniera a las tres.
