Poll: Would you agree with me that online dictionaries are pretty crap?

I tried to find a certain definition of the word flannel, and it didn’t exist according to these far from definitive or comprehensive dictionaries. I found the definition I wanted in a book type dictionary. I shall stick to books in future.

some are, others aren’t.

I don’t think on-line dictionaries are crap, but on-line translation progams are. I prefer books, but then I know how to use a dictionary. Flannel is a woollen article, it has also been used for a face cloth, and when used to describe a speech, it has been replaced by the word ’spin’, in other words ‘I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and anything but the truth.’

i think that dictionary.com has pretty high quality definitions. they use definitions copied from several different dictionaries so theres a variety.
